I could use the example in my own family. We have a family member in my wife's family who left the Catholic Church and is practicing homosexuality.

And years ago, we really, I don't want to say we got an argument, but we shared with him the truth of the matter.

And we did so over a couple of thanksgivings, a couple of Christmases, and things would get a little heated.

But it ended up separating us to the point where he refused to come to any more family meetings.

And I really felt bad about that. But years later, it took quite a few years, he came back.
