Well we were for that's how we got on the conversation you told me the best Italian restaurant in San Diego. Joe I do want to before I go to calls just want to kind of wrap something up from the last hour because we've gotten a lot of calls and I didn't get any of them on the air and that wasn't on purpose.

It was accidentally but we spoke to a gentleman whose wife had a C section and there was concern about her getting pregnant again and and Joe and I are utterly incompetent to to say what many women said that lots of women called to say hey I had several children C section some women more than several children C section so they they wanted to encourage that mom and fill in a space that Joe and I were

completely unable to fill and Joe you pointed out to me well what good would it be for us to say oh C section is not that bad you're going to be fine like that would sound idiotic coming from the two of us but with a lot of moms called so I just wanted to encourage that mom yeah and I think this is maybe something more broadly I will only speak in the broadest terms look there are people of medical issues of all varieties and kinds and different ages of pregnancy different you know different temperatures during the third trimester outside.

So you know there's all kinds of issues that can come up and I don't want to speak in any kind of universal way but I will say I've been really moved by the witness of a lot of Catholic moms who will you know undergo these difficult and sometimes even high risk pregnancies and are really joyful about it.

So that's something where you know you're not in any sense morally required to put your health at serious risk nevertheless there are there are a lot of people who you know C sections and other issues are beautiful witness I think to to family life married life and into the Christian gospel yeah so thanks to all those moms who called in with those words of encouragement because we don't know the medical situation of that mom but we do know is there's a lot of women who want to say I did it.

I did it and I'm okay so yeah I think it's a tough line between like you want to be encouraging we don't want to be like trust me you know your doctor listen to me yeah yeah all right let's start in Lafayette Indiana Jose watching on YouTube you are first this hour Jose go ahead with your question for Joe.

Good evening gentlemen my question is I've never been married but my girlfriend has been married civilly to her only husband they've been mutually separated for a few years but never divorced.

Since it's a civil marriage does that mean it's invalid and we can both date and go to church have confessions and take communion without issue or if there is

issue what needs to be done in order for these things together. Great question the best thing to do is to get an actual

annulment and I think canonically I think it divorce is actually required but you can consult with you should talk to the

parish priest explain the situation and he can guide you to the tribunal into the person who can kind of

handle those cases so for those who are maybe tuning in who aren't familiar just a word on that Jesus

talks about how what God has joined together man can't separate but there's always this question of in when

marriage is followed part of trying to figure out what is the union God joined together or not

and in the case of a civil marriage of a baptized Catholic that's a good sign that this wasn't

something you know God isn't calling you to go get married in a court house or in Vegas or

something I mean unless you're at a church in Vegas you know what I mean and so in those cases the

church will look at that and say no this doesn't appear to be a valid marriage but in tell that comes

it's not really appropriate to date it because there's there's still on paper a marriage in some

sense you don't want to be dating a married woman and so I would encourage you to get the actual
