I actually spent seven years here in Seattle living in Pohami when I worked for Microsoft,

so it's fun to be back and this is my second time in Sunstone, Seattle.

My interest in Mormon studies began as I was leaving Seattle so I didn't even know

that since Sunstone was going on during the seven years I lived here.

I want to begin with a few disclaimers, implicit in the question tonight is that some people

may want to stay, but I just want to make it clear that I don't want to make the assumption

that staying is right for everyone.

I get a lot of heat for that as I've given the speech a few times, because there are people

who just say that church doesn't work for them and they want to feel like they're being

judged for their decisions that leave, and so that's not what this is all about.

This is just about, most importantly, what I found with the creator of 400 people at

council over the past few years is that there are some people who feel trapped and they

don't have a vocabulary and they don't know of options available to them when they hit
