Welcome back to the court of the day show I'm your host Sean Crox and a

Sean Crox and calm. It's throwback Thursday and we are turning back that

clock all the way to episode number 1049 in our feature speaker Reverend Ike. You

know usually throwback Thursday episodes are at least a year old. These

that's how I try to keep it. But today's talk fits right in with our theme of the

week, which is building up black folks and people of color. And even if you're not a

person of color, just building yourself up and not believing what other people are

saying about your limitations and what you can do. Like he says, it's not the

color of your skin. It's the color of your mind. Your mind can do anything you

wanted to do. It can create the life that you want. But as long as you continue

to think that your skin is some barrier to success, you'll never ever become

successful. You have to use your mind. Here's Reverend Ike.

But this failure self identity must die. It must die out of your mind that you

might live and experience success. And again, too many people have a poverty

self identity. And I'm going to say something here. I'm going to say it from my

heart. I hope it will do some good and I know it will do some good. It's against

all that the uppity sociologists and militants tell us. But it's a psychological

truth that must be faced and understood. Too much of this poverty business and

poverty condition has been carried on among minority people. Many times the

people who claim to be the leaders among minority people are the very ones

who are grinding the poverty idea into the minds of minority people. Stop telling
