Welcome back to the quote of the day show I'm your host Sean Crox and of Sean Crox and dot com today we are going old school we're going back to 1962 with Mr. Earl

and Earl was actually the mentor of Jim Rome the late great Jim Rome who's going to be our speaker tomorrow and today Earl is talking about setting goals because sometimes here's what we do.

We say well there's no point in setting the goal to get the car because I don't have money for the car.

Where is the thing if you had money for the car you probably wouldn't set a goal for you would just actually just go out and get the car see that's the fun thing about goals is that when we set them those goals should stretch us right you don't want to know exactly how you're going to achieve the goal again that's the fun part you want to set the what you want to have the why and the how just kind of plays out it is kind of unfolds before you.

And so Earl breaks down the sequence for setting the goal he talks about getting clear he talks about getting specific do you want a black car do you want a yellow car do you want a red card do you want a white car do you want a big house do you want a little house how many rooms do you want you want to get specific you want to write it down.

You want to visualize it you want to visualize it and feel it as if it's already here you want to set your GPS to go in the direction that you really need to go in order to get to your destination and what that's going to do is plant the seed in your subconscious mind it gives that subconscious mind direction because the subconscious mind really is the source of at least like 90% of the actions that we take and so what you do when you when you set your GPS and you.

And you plant the seed in the subconscious mind you kind of find yourself just taking the actions and putting yourself in the situation that attracts the people or attracts the money and it brings the resources that's going to get you towards your goal but you have to get specific first you have to stretch yourself and you have to get clear on the what's and your why and just understand that the how is going to play out here's Earl.

You see we have to learn to describe things now I'm going to go through a description of a thing because this is very important in your life folks please listen and please try to remember what I'm saying you can change your life that quick into everything wonderful you can have everything wonderful happening to you if you use these basic simple things now I'm going to describe the thing that an automobile talk about an automobile because an automobile easy to describe and I'm going to do that.

And people can comprehend it very quickly and very easily and I'm not going to talk about a shovel a not describing the cat like per se I'm talking about a cat like idea the cat like idea in the clothing in the homes and the things that you really desire to eat with you and I'm not talking about something that you say well I got to have money to have a cat like I'm not talking about money it is not necessary that you have money to have a cat like there's many wonderful things can happen to you where these things can come from to you from very unusual sources many wonderful things that you can do.

And if you can do and go through the process I'm talking about your income will be doubled triple quadruple the one thing that I had in my mind I had defined in my mind was a red cat like convertible I never owned a cat like in my life now you probably don't want a red cat like the I wanted one and I defined that thing right down to its socks in the end result was I had me a red cat like convertible and my income increased to a point where it's not going to be a red cat like in my life.

It cost me nothing this is visualizing this is a positive attitude towards the things you want too many people stop their dreams because they start thinking about the thing that is not necessary in order to have it I say to somebody I say do you want a new cat like the guy says I want one but I can't afford it I say that has nothing to do it according at this minute I just want to know what you really want most people are afraid to define what they want in life they're afraid to define it they're afraid it's going to cost them something but if you're making a

thousand dollars a month right now and you could double your income to two thousand dollars a month you could have your cat like you could have two cat like you could have five cat likes so you don't have to worry about the income I'm just talking about a principle now the cat like what do you do about it I'll say Pete what do you like to have he says a cat like no

I'm going to give it to him I'm going to give it to him so he has nothing to worry about no money no nothing so I just Pete what do you want he says a cat like I says fine Pete now this is where people make their mistakes I said I got a nice 19 36 beat up model downstairs I'll give it to you you don't want a 36 model cat like I said you just told me you wanted a cat like he said I want a 62 cat like I said why didn't you tell me Pete why didn't you tell me this is a way people set their dreams they just say I want a cat like you want an orange one

when you're a green one he's a lot of red one now he's starting to be buying and you know it's very difficult to define up here in your mind the bus thing to do is to get a piece of paper folks and start defining on a piece of paper a 1962 cat like a red cat like convertible I'm just describing one car now you can have any kind of car you want a red cat like 1962 convertible with a white top red and white posting a red floor rug

white wall tires electric windows air conditioning unit guys I'm a Z cause there's no way but you're going to get it for nothing the guys I'll take it then

so now he says I'm gonna put everything down then tonight he says that's right just right it right down the tee so he goes right through his cattle

acne describes everything about this cat like that he wants and when he gets all through the perfect visualizations up here now

because he had described it when you write it you start seeing it because he says let's see no red cat up to the

right top we're kind of bolstering now he just let's you know red all red no I've really have read with a right in it so he gets the picture up here

by writing it down here this is how you define things that you want in this world so he gets it all defined when he gets that cat
