Hyundai surprised us with a new EV announcement this morning when we woke up.

The Casper is a petrol-powered small city car in Korea.

And in some places it'll be sold as the Casper EV. In some

places it'll be the Insta, not Insta as in Instagram, but INS-T-E-R, INSTER. Over 200 miles of range,

221 miles WLTP, that's 356 kilometres on a single charge. No sign of the battery size,

how fast it'll charge, or even pricing at the

moment. At June 27th, we get the full announcement. Now, the European Union are set to announce

tariffs on Chinese EVs this week. The US recently added 100% tariff to Chinese imports,

not that it affected any cars, because they're not importing any, but over here we think think it'll be a lot less. However, will it make a big difference because some Chinese

EV makers are struggling over here? Great Wall Motor recently closing their German European

headquarters because of low sales, or was it because of the potential EU tariffs? We don't know.

Other makes are doing very well.

Neo have their seventh Neo house opening in Amsterdam, Ex-Pung, amongst others that are expanding into countries like Germany, France, Italy and the UK.

So we'll let you know about those European tariffs if and when they arrive this week.

The German carmakers don't want them,

by the way, because it will likely lead to a trade battle between the EU and China, and anywhere

between 20 and 23% of some of the German car makers, their profits are generated from China.

So they want nothing to do with this.
