something more directed to our larger spiritual life and our witness in this world.

I'll tell you why I have it on my heart to talk about this today, but I want to make something absolutely clear.

As followers of Jesus, we can have differences over the things we're going to talk about today.

As followers of Jesus, we can have

deep differences based on our understanding of what scripture says, and yet we don't divide over these things.

So in anything that I say, I don't mean to sound demeaning, condescending. I don't mean to speak of

a superior spirituality and a lesser spirituality and things like that.

I'm making no such judgment.
