Hello and welcome to the Wednesday November 8th, 2017 edition of Tesla Daily Unofficial Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maower. Today we're talking

about Weimo. For the first time ever, Weimo will be testing their fully self-driving cars

on public roads without a human driver. Tesla stock on Tuesday closed up 1.08% to $306.05, this compared to the NASDAQ down

0.27%.

Supercharger network update, we still remain at 1,042 supercharging locations.

Okay, so autonomous driving is something

that I'm very curious about,

and we're gonna spend a lot more time on

in the future of Tesla Daily.

However, we got some important news yesterday

from Weymo, which is a subsidiary of parent

company Google which is now known as Alphabet.

Weymo is Google's full self-driving moonshop project that began about eight years ago.

Up until now Weymo has been testing their fleet with human drivers inside of the vehicles, ready to take over if need be. But as of yesterday, Tuesday, November 7th, 2017,

Weimo's vehicles are now being operated in a small area of Phoenix without any humans inside of the vehicle.

Or at least without any human drivers, they do have passengers, and Weymo released a video showing passengers taking rides in this fleet which right now is small

it looks like it's only about four vehicles but this certainly will scale up over time

they plan to expand the geographic area that they're operating into a size of Greater London.

They also plan over the next few months to start to begin allowing access to the public for these

vehicles so people would potentially be able to hail or ride with a full

self-driving vehicle. Waymo employees are still in the vehicles at this point in time to

monitor the vehicles and make sure everything is performing as intended.
