It was on this day, Election Day in 1998, that Jesse Ventura became governor of the state

of Minnesota.

He received, along with May Shunk, recall May as his running name, 773,713 votes, Norm Coleman

and his running name Jen Olson received 717,350, and Skip Humphrey and Roger Moe finished

third, 587,528.
