Today we're talking about the possible removal of the federal $7,500 tax credit for

electric vehicles within the new proposed tax bill.

Tesla stock closed out the day on Thursday down 6.8% to $299.26.

This compared to the NASDAQ down 0.02%, but of course that comparison is a little

less valid on earnings report days.

Supercharger network update, we are currently at 1,241 supercharging locations

adding one new station in North Carolina.

The big news from Thursdays that the new proposed tax bill came out and within the tax bill there is a proposal to

end the full $7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles as soon as

December 31st 2017. This would completely remove the federal tax credit, so that would mean that any vehicle

placed in service after December 31st, 2017 would not be eligible for any federal tax rebate.

For those of us with Model three reservations that would make it

extremely unlikely that we would be eligible for any federal tax credit at all.

As potential customers that would obviously be pretty disappointing to many of us.

It's likely that if this bill passed in its current form

that many people would cancel their reservations. I don't think there's a whole lot more

to say from a customer perspective. Obviously it would be extremely disappointing

for this credit to go away.
