What is up everybody Mark on the mic here joined by my good friend Mr Ryan Muckenhear and if you're listening to it when this

podcast drops it is early, which is the early season. I mean we've got some

above timberline mule deer hunts. You've got you know potential alpine

Sitka blacktail hunts in Southeast Alaska or Kodiak.

There's some velvet antler, you know, early archery elkons.

Heck that, I mean, I've even heard of early rifle hunts.

You know, guys killing bulls with the rifle. I mean there are

situations where you might be hunting and you have the opportunity to take a velvet deer or elk or other antler critter, caribou, a lot of

caribou hunts, man that's the early season a lot of guys killing the velvet

bulls when they go out and you gotta be if you want to preserve that velvet Ryan. You have to be able to care for it in the field or at least in short order when you get back to civilization.

I have a lot of questions. I hopefully have some answers. Now I've

only shot two velvet bucks in my lifetime. Both were Siddka Blacktails like

that the one that we have on the table here

One got eaten by a bear and I remember that gone and I don't have man you were upset about that

anything I've got some great pictures you you went through so many

measures to prevent that from happening that it's almost hilarious to learn that it

happened the that area where we ended up and I don't know exactly for what reason.

I mean there's a lot of black bears in the area,

but it was infested. I've never seen so many.

To go so far as this when Mark got back from this hunt he was he was pretty bombed

You hung him over a cliff. Yeah, you know as much as we could right Like I'd say it was more of like a cliff slash rock face sort of deal. There weren't any trees.
