Today I'm delighted to bring you our featured guest, Tim Totora, and our topic, A Day in the Life, what's it really like to be a film and TV industry executive? Welcome, Tim. Thank you for having me. I really appreciate it. Well, it's our pleasure. Tim, are you using your talents doing work that you love? I am, and I do love what I do for a living. Good, good. Well,

we're going to dive into that whole story. Tim Tuturo has spent his impressive career in the entertainment

industry garnering extensive financial and producing experience before releasing his second book,

An Effective Guide to Build Your Path in the Film and TV Industry.

His latest book and companion, How to Make It in Hollywood,

Guides Aspiring Filmmakers through the Black Box that is building a durable network in film and TV protection.

Well, before we dive into your backstory, Tim, take just a minute or two and tell our

listeners around the world what you're engaged in right now that has your excited and motivated.

Just a quick snapshot. Well, you know, two things. One thing that really excites me and motivates me

are young filmmakers and helping them understand how the industry works, how to get connected in it.

And we have a couple of

movies coming up this year, mostly shot in Canada. So it's busy finding money and connecting

people to make that happen. Oh, excellent, excellent. Wow, it's an amazing industry as we talked

about in the pre-interview. Well, also, as you know, everyone's life is about turning points or

passages from the day we're born until we leave this plane of existence.

So take us into the backstory of Tim Turturro, family of origin, and tell us where it all began and the people and choices and changes that influenced how you got here today.

Well, I am a second generation, California, in particular Southern California. My parents both went to high school here. My dad was born here. And in the late 60s, they decided that Los Angeles was too expensive and the school district wasn't very good, which is funny now, you know, 50 years on.

And they moved to Orange County, and that's where I grew up.

I spent my entire life in essentially two houses until I was 23.

I graduated from college.
