Summary

When you visualize a boxer training and hitting a bag, he or she is: in control, delivering the punches, being proactive, and setting the pace. The bag on the other hand is getting beat up, pushed around, and reacting rather than initiating. Sometimes in life we're more like the bag than the boxer, and in this episode Dave shares disciplines that will help you regain control and turn things around so you are more like the boxer - dictating the pace on your path to the game changer life.

for creativity purposes is I'll get a song with like a real nice melody that just and I'll play it over over and over again. And I'll just play it in the background, and it just has this stimulating effect on my brain. And so I took this Pearl Jam song called Yellow Ledbetter, kind of an obscure title, Yellow Ledbetter. And I put it on repeat. I like this song. I never really knew what it said because I can't understand what Eddie Vedder's saying during the song. But it was going over and over and over again. And I really tried to listen to it at one point. By the way, I was coming up with great ideas, like three pages of notes as this yellow lead betters playing in the background. And so I looked up the lyrics because it's like, is Eddie really singing this in English? I really like Eddie. He has a unique voice, but I didn't know what the heck he was saying. And there was a line in there that I just really connected with. He says this. He says, I said, I don't know whether I'm the boxer or the bag. And I thought, wow, isn't that most of us at one point in our life or another? Are we the boxer or are we the bag?
