0:11.0	Today, the inquiry heard from expert witness Professor Neve Nick Dade, a forensic scientist at the University of Dundee.
0:19.0	Her report is about the origin and cause of the fire in Flat 16 and its initial spread.
0:25.2	Council to the inquiry, Andrew Kinnear, asked Professor Nick Dade what evidence she had that the fire started in the kitchen.
0:31.8	I think the sequence here is important. So when the first firefighters, Batterry and Brown, entered the flat.
0:38.0	They searched the flat initially.
0:40.2	And the only place where they found evidence of burning was in the kitchen, having searched the rest of the property.
0:46.4	She also produced stills from a video taken by Bahalukibedi, the occupant of Flat 16, once he was outside the tower.
0:57.1	They showed flames coming out of the kitchen window.
1:05.4	It's indicating flames now starting to come out from the window on the right-hand side of the window as you look up.
1:14.0	And the middle arrow? And the middle arrow and the arrow beneath it are pointing out what appears to be debris falling from the window.
1:22.7	Based in part on Bahalu Kabedi's written statement, Professor Nick Day narrowed down the location of the fire's origin to a corner of the kitchen.
1:29.5	I quote Mr. Bahaluk Kabedi, who occupied flat 16 at Grenfell Tower, reports that he was wakened by the smoke alarm in his kitchen.
1:33.4	He went into the kitchen via the main door, this was the door from the hallway,
1:35.3	and stated that, and I quote,
1:39.2	I could see light-coloured smoke in the area next to the fridge-freezer and window.
1:41.3	It was in the general area there.
1:44.9	The smoke was rising up from floor level and coming towards me.
1:50.7	And, I quote, I saw smoke. It seems to be coming from behind my hot point fridge freezer.
