The New Verily presents the Pure Cinema podcast.

And it's January.

We are in 2019.

Well, it's not.

We're like three days before January that we're recording this.

But we are going to be kicking off the new year with this episode.

So we were going to do a couple of things.

We're going to catch up a little bit on our holiday viewing that we just were lucky enough to get a good day at the theater and then cut into

our 10 films because 2018. Not top 10 necessarily, even though I think it is an approximate

of a top 10.

But we can get into, we can discuss the, uh, finer issues of that later.

But, uh, but first, uh, we saw three movies together on Sunday.

It was Christmas Eve Eve, the Eve of Christmas Eve.

Uh, and we were always going to be going to a great Christmas crime double at the new Bev that

was kind of in the cards.

And a couple days before, because last year we had ended the year at a screening of the

Phantom Thread together.

And that film ended up topping both of our lists and being, you know, a major film for

both of us.

So I thought it would be really fun if we could,

you know, fit in one more movie. And there was just this movie that I'd heard a lot about. I didn't

realize there would be any kind of Christmas connection, but turns out it's all set in winter,
