Maine State Police have located the body of Robert Card in Lisbon.

He is dead, but I also know that his death may not bring solace to many, but now is a time to heal.

That's main Governor Janet Mills during a news conference Friday night following the end of a roughly two-day manhunt.

Police found Robert Card's body near a river 10 miles from Lewiston where he carried out a

shooting rampage that killed 18 people at a restaurant and bowling alley on Wednesday.

They say he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Tammy Aslan survived the massacre, along with her 10-year-old daughter but lost her cousin.

We have so many questions left unanswered,

but I know it does give my daughter some peace

to know that he's been caught

because that was a fear of hers,

that he's still out there.

Law enforcement sources say investigators are working to establish a timeline between the

attack and the suspect's death. They're also searching his social media to identify a possible motive.
