Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

Sometimes people just don't get it or don't want to get it. In our last program the Philistines had clearly seen the superiority

and power of the true and living God, yet they are still rejecting Him. And not only are

they rejecting God, but they are clinging to their powerless

God Deagon.

Pastor John explained to us that sometimes people hang on to their powerless, false, pagan gods because it helps them to justify

their fleshly indulgences.

It was true for the Philistines thousands of years ago, and it's true for many people today.

As we continue our study today in 1st Samuel, we will see the Philistines try to deal with

the issue of how to properly get rid of God.
