Today I'll be talking a little bit about what mindfulness is and sharing some of my own

experiences with mindful techniques. So what is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is really about being in the moment. You're not necessarily thinking about the

past or the future,

nor fighting your thoughts or feelings,

just experiencing them for what they are.

It's kind of simple to explain what mindfulness is,

but it's a little bit harder to actually explain how it feels.

And so I thought that today I would share a little bit about my own experiences with mindfulness

and give you a bit of insight into my own journey and where it took me and where I am now with my own mindfulness practices.

So the first time that I learned about mindfulness, I was studying psychology and volunteering on the helpline at the Anxiety Recovery Centre.

So they taught us this technique called mindfulness, which this particular technique I still use today. It's really beautiful,

simple but very effective. So what we were taught to do was just sit down, take a few deep breaths

and start to tune into our senses one at a time.
