have been hit with a double price rise, made worse by problems in the way the scheme

has been administered. I interview the boss of the National Economic Crime Centre, whose job is to tackle

serious fraud in the UK, now 41% of all crime. And we start this podcast with one such

major fraud. A hairbrush company founded in 1777, which supplies the royal family with what it calls the finest

brushes in the world, had more than one and a half million pounds stolen from its bank

account in less than 20 minutes. Kent brushes, based in Hertfordshire, came to Moneybox

after its case had been handled, it told us, appallingly, by the police, action fraud, and its bank, Barclays, where the money was taken from.

The firm was the victim of a sophisticated fraud in July. Three months later, there's been no police investigation, no arrests, and of course, no one has been charged,
