Today we're going to do kind of a quickie episode because I want to just light your fire so that you will go out and do. We are talking about teaching your children about your

own culture. I started with talking about race and slavery, but I actually think that teaching about

your culture is the best first step.

It allows you to lay a foundation and build vocabulary so that your children will feel more comfortable talking about other people's culture.

When children are able to learn about their own culture,

I am so proud of where I come from. And you might have noticed like I have that even though we live in

the United States, that has so many different people from so many different cultural backgrounds, there are a lot of adults that don't really know where they come from.

They don't know where their ancestry is from.

And we don't want that for our children. We want our children to grow up knowing that they stand on the shoulders of their ancestors. And we don't want that for our children. We want our children to grow up
