It was a Rose Bowl for the ages.

Clemson and Alabama are going to play again in the National Championship game,

and Lane Kiffin does what Lane Kiffin does best,

all coming up on the Audible.

It is the morning of January 3rd.

On January 2nd, USC and Penn State played a game that I'm curious to hear my colleague's opinion since he was there.

That was the best ballgame I've watched in person or on TV, I think, since at least Boise State, Oklahoma 10 years ago.

Wow, Stu. That is, I didn't know how far back you were going to go. I sat next to

Pat 40 and near him was Chris Dufrein. And so those guys are my senior. Chris has certainly seen more

Rose Bowls than I have because he grew up in L.A. and works for the times. But I've seen a lot of

Rose Bowls too. I've probably seen 15 maybe that I've covered. And so people were like,

this is the best Rose Bowl you've seen since when. And I was like, well, I had to think about it.

And I was like, well, certainly the best game I've ever covered, hands down, was the Texas USC game.

And it was a Rose Bowl game. But the first Rose Bowl game I saw in person was a great game too.

And that was the Jake Plummer, Arizona State, Ohio State game. And that was really, that was one of the

best games I've covered. This would rank up there too, though, because of all the big plays

and the back and forth where you had Penn State go down 13 to

nothing and feel like they probably were lucky they weren't down 24 to nothing and then at one point

and our buddy Ryan Abraham from USC football.com we were riding together and at like you know whatever was

one in the morning or midnight last night, he said,
