Genesis chapter 22, verse 12.

God said, do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him.

For now I know that you fear God, saying you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.

These are God's words to Abraham as he was willing to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.

God had said in the very beginning of Genesis chapter 22, verse 2, take your son,

your only son, Isaac, even the emphasis there on. This is the promised son, your only son.

Take him whom you love, go to the land of Mariah and offer him there as a burnt offering on one

of the mountains of which I shall tell you.

In the very next verse says Abraham rose early in the morning and did exactly what God said.

And he went with his son Isaac to this altar.

He laid him on top of the wood, reached out his hand, took the knife to slaughter

his son. That's what verse 10 says. Immediately, verse 11 says, the angel of the Lord called to him

from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham. And then we have the verse that just read, verse 12,

do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him

for now I know that you fear God seeing you have not withheld your son your only son for me so

think about it what verse 12 clearly teaches us is that fearing God leads to faith in God, trust in God, with that which is most precious to us.
