Headline, CNN, Defense Secretary Austin visits Ukraine amid Russian

Gaines and ahead of imminent U.S. election.

Bill Rajo, the Foundation for the Defense of democracies, joins me as my colleague and co-host,

and we're very pleased to welcome FTDs, John Hardy, tracking the Ukraine War Force for

many weeks now.

John, a very good evening to you with Secretary Austin in Ukraine following days of

Ukrainian headlines chiefly led by the meeting in Berlin last week between

principles Mr Starmer of the United Kingdom Mr Macron of France Mr Schulz of

Germany Mr Biden of the United States to discuss the victory plan from the

president of Ukraine which includes membership in NATO. There are other elements

but that is the chief one if I understand the summary of the defense

minister of Ukraine. First your measure of these negotiations is NATO possible for Ukraine? They keep repeating it. Is even the idea that

NATO could be an invitation at the end of a set period of time six months or a year. Is anyone

acknowledging that NATO would rescue Ukraine? Is Ukraine continuing to

plead for it? Good evening to you, John. Hey, John, hey Bill, thanks for having me back.

Yeah, NATO invitation is certainly a key component of Salinsky's so-called victory plan, for better or worse. I don't think such an invitation is likely. I mean,

Biden has already ruled it out and if Trump were to win, I think it'd be even less likely and I doubt Vice President Harris

her position would differ much from Mr Biden's although you know we have to see things could change as the war progresses and as you know the

mood in the United States you know could shift but I think it's it's unlikely.
