We call it food security in the United States. But famine is what it looks like,

but less than until the Russian grain deal, the news right now, Russia is declaring that starting today,

any civilians ships going to Ukrainian ports by the Black Sea could be attacked since they may be potential carriers of military cargo.

That's a quote from the Russian Ministry of Defense. What Ukrainian cargo? What Ukrainian ports?

In particular Odessa and Mikhailov, two port cities, where in these last hours,

38 cruise missiles and drones have attacked, including two caliber sea-based cruise missiles,

three land-launched cruise missiles, and 13 of the Iranian-made drones were shot down by the Ukrainian forces.

This is a war over food, and I welcome Antonia Kalabashano of Geopolitical Futures,

running most recently at Jamestown about this grain fiasco right now.

As of these last hours, Russia has suspended the understanding of Ukrainian grain and Russian grain

and all the other foodstuffs flowing through the Black Sea into the Mediterranean to reach,

especially North Africa, but the whole world. Antonia, a very good day to you.

The wheat prices are spiking and the European stock exchange, and in the Midwest as well,

because in addition to Russia's malign intentions, we have a heat wave that is very dry

and baking the Midwest where our wheat crop is, the heat waves with you and Romania as well.

First big question. Did we see this coming? Was the EU, was the Black Sea basin asleep

thinking the grain deal would be continued? Good evening to you.
