This is CVS. I and the world. I'm John Bachelor. The pending request by the

Biden administration for additional monies for Ukraine for ammunition for

troops for sustaining the culture under attack by the Russian Federation and

its allies the axis of resistance.

I welcome Yakub Gregil, writing most recently at the Wall Street Journal about

the challenge for the European Union, for NATO, for the

continent of Europe.

Professor Gragil is at the Catholic University of America.

He is a senior advisor to the marathon initiative,

a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Professor, a very good evening to you.

The challenge is Europe's and the headlines these last days

since you published usefully in the Wall Street Journal go in a direction in

which they're stirring around. For example, Bloomberg, EU's new defense plan

aims to boost European military purchases.

That is extremely promising and then we have remarks by the president of France

about the possibility of troops from either the EU or NATO into Ukraine at some point and

then we have remarks by the Chancellor of Germany.

Hersholtz saying absolutely not and then we have the question raised by

Ms. van der Leyen running for the European Commission president again saying

it is time to consider using the $300 billion or so assets frozen at the beginning of the war from Russia,

time to use that for not only rebuilding the economy of Ukraine, but also for
