I welcome Charles Burton, the MacDonald-Laurie Institute, to help me through the story of

India and the Prime Minister of Canada, tangling now over an event that happened in June of

this year, mid-June, a murder in a parking lot in British Columbia, a small town 20 miles

outside of Vancouver of a Canadian citizen of Indian origin, Sikh Indian origin, well known

in its community, 45 years old, named Najar. The incident itself was extremely violent. We're told

there were men, two or three men with automatic weapons who opened up on this individual and left

him dead. There's been no arrest to our knowledge. This comes to light by remarks from remarks by

the Prime Minister in Parliament some hours before. The remarks talked about a allegation, a substantive

allegation of links between the murder in the parking lot in British Columbia and the government

of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi's government. To help me understand this from the

Canadian point of view and what is happening in Canada now since the Prime Minister's remarks,

I welcome my colleague Charles Burton of the MacDonald-Laurie Institute, he is in Ottawa. Charles

the events are spilling very quickly. However, I note the most recent information we have, this is from

Canada, is that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called on India to cooperate with an

investigation into the murder of Sikh separatist leader in British Columbia. Trudeau made the

remarks about credible allegations some days past, he's now asking for India to cooperate. Of

significance here is that this is happening during the time of the General Assembly and happens

also weeks after Mr. Trudeau was in India in Delhi by a G20 meeting hosted by Narendra Modi.
