I think we should start on a kind of a somber note

since we had some sad news in the world of sports,

especially that hits close to home in college football a true

icon passed away over the weekend the great Keith Jackson let me ask you I mean is there

any more iconic figure for you when it comes to

broadcasting than Keith Jackson? No absolutely not but in particular how closely

intertwined he was with college football you You know when I was reading the various

stories it was actually pretty amazing to read that he called everything from

baseball playoffs to Monday Night Football, all these things, some of them which I'm sure I heard at the time.

But to me he was always the voice of college football more so than I think you know I mean there

are a lot of great people calling college football today but for a younger person it would be hard to

describe how one person could stand out so far above the others how when Keith Jackson was

calling a game that meant it was the big game. Yeah I thought on your own site

John Walters or a friend your media critic for the athletic, for the All-American, did a really good job and I don't know if the right term is colloquialism, but because college football had such a provincial aspect to it and I thought
