Which is it?

After Judas betrays Jesus, he goes to the Jewish council and he turns the 30 pieces of silver

that had bought his betrayal. And then what happens? Well according to one gospel writer,

the council buys the potter's field and they make it a cemetery for strangers and it's called

to this day the field of blood. And another gospel writer says that Judas went and bought the field

and then killed himself in that field. So which is it? Is this a real contradiction of the Holy Week
