I'm joined today, per usual, by my colleagues Matt Neuelander and San Vesanian, while there

I think I'd prefer to start with some interesting comments from Hall of Fame coach Jim Behein,

who told a reporter yesterday that he believes the punishment the NCAA hit his program with

is, quote, excessive.

He says the NCAA is trying to make an example out of his program and actually think that's

probably true on some level, but that doesn't necessarily mean the punishment is excessive.

Now, it's been a while.

So folks might be fuzzy on what the findings were and the punishment actually is.

So I'll review really quickly for you.

The NCAA concluded, ultimately, that there were several instances of academic fraud, including

one case where two staff members did coursework for a player to help him pass a class and thus

keep him eligible.

The NCAA found some players who felt drug tests weren't held out of praxis in games, even

though that was the school's written policy.

The NCAA also found a booster gave cash to basketball players for, quote, volunteer

work at a YMCA.

The punishment is that the NCAA vacated a bunch of Syracuse wins games in which ineligible
