Hello and welcome to the Friday September 1st 2017 edition of Tesla Daily Unofficial

Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maower. Today we're talking about Tesla Energy and Tesla's Gigafactory 2 in Buffalo, New York.

Yesterday the stock closed at $355.90 up 0.77% this compared to the NASDAQ up 0.95%.

Supercharger network update and it is not a good one today. We actually decreased our count of

supercharger locations to 946. We have two temporary closings of

stations in North Carolina and one in Belgium. I'll do some digging on that and provide further

updates if there is anything important and those temporary closings appear

to be anything long term.

With that we're going to hop right into the news we have quite a bit to discuss with

Tesla Energy.

Exciting news coming out yesterday that Tesla has begun production of solar cells for the Tesla Solar Roof at

Gigafactory 2 in Buffalo, New York. And as a reminder, Gigafactory 2 is a solar

factory that Tesla acquired in the Solar City acquisition back last November.

I think many investors, and I count myself kind of among this subset,

would have not placed a lot of value on Tesla Solar solar at this point,

so because it's number one, it's a difficult business to value,

and number two, it's a lot of people that are invested in Tesla were invested for

Tesla Motors and don't, honestly don't know a ton about the solar business.

So we're going to spend a little bit of time today breaking down how that looks.

But first, I just wanted to talk about kind of the news that came out yesterday

about this gigafactory.
