Let's get started. Well, hey y'all, I had to start out with that intro because it's so fitting for today's

podcast but I just have to share with you. I have been working on my microphone

issues for about 45 minutes and I don't know what I have done but I just can't get it right.

It sounds like I'm in a tunnel and I decided you know what I'm going to just do it anyway because if I've learned anything about life it's that it doesn't always go as planned

There will always be challenges there will always be challenges something that maybe isn't perfect enough and if

perfection is your standard chances are you're probably not going to do a lot in life.

I just find that showing up doing the best you can

in any moment, going all in and working with what you've got is at the core of French kissing life.

I like to think that there are life lessons in everything and so I thought I'd

share that one with you and I want to share some more life lessons and that's what today's podcast is all about.

I'm going to be sharing 10 life lessons from a Southern bell pageant queen.

So on a recent visit back home down south my niece told me in her sweetest

sweetest southern voice.

Aunt Tanya, I saw a picture of you in the county museum when you were the strawberry queen.

And I was like, oh my goodness, the past will not leave you alone, will it?

So yes, I have held the titles of Little Miss Chaburn, which was the little town I grew up in, and, are you ready for this, the YAM

Queen? Yes, there's a YAM Festival that has a YAM Queen and I was her for a year.

Also, the strawberry queen and the watermelon queen.

Now, I know it sounds more like a smoothie than a string of hard-earned pageant titles, but unless you grow up in the South drinking sweet tea and eating collard greens, you probably won't understand.
