You're going to be. Oh, oh, oh, you're not.

Oh, Oh, All right man, welcome to the introduction for episode 87. Jason Lingren is with me. We will be talking about the decade that is the 80s

1:10.1

such a kind of critically important transforming decade.

1:17.0

The decade of the 80s kind of came on the tale of what was begun in the 60s in my view.

1:22.0

In the 60s there was a whole social programming

1:25.6

thing going on to shift the mindset for nearly the first time for all people who lived in America to begin to think about what

1:34.4

America was in a different way. They were degrading the greatness in the minds of

1:39.6

the people. The media does it, any number of things does it from the beginning of the early parts of the decade when we supposedly lose a president up into the hippies movement.

2:38.0

a self-centric kind of generation being formed out in the 80s. After all, you know, decades later they would

2:47.1

refer to the 80s as the me generation or the me decade. It's a true thing. I was

2:52.3

there I saw it. All the things that came to bear in the 80s in my view are a dividing line in the sand from the way things used to be before the modern technical age and the way things would be later.

3:05.3

But in the 80s, so much of the kind of forward-looking long game social programming comes in on us hard.

3:15.0

It's not just that personal computers and gaming

3:17.7

and all these things are coming to bear cell phones,

3:20.5

any number of things that Jason and I will cover.
