0:39.4	great ideas, but feeling like I keep adding to my to-do list without actually feeling like
0:44.9	anything is getting done. When do I caught off the awesome classroom ideas and say, I'll try this in
0:51.0	two years or never? First of all, Dominique, congratulations on starting your first teaching job.
0:57.2	That is super exciting, but also super overwhelming, if we're being honest.
1:02.0	Bridget and I both remember our first year of teaching and how it felt like there was so much

1:08.0	I know we have said it before, but we're going to keep saying it. Don't compare
1:11.9	yourself to other teachers. I'm going to make a parallel to my house because I just feel like
1:16.9	there are a lot of similarities and my house is completely taking up all of my time lately.
1:21.5	Buying a house is a lot like your first year of teaching. You have all of these visions of what
1:26.2	you want to see come to fruition,
1:28.3	and you see these Instagram pictures of other houses, and you want to achieve that, but you have to
1:33.2	keep in mind, a lot of those pictures are from people who have been living in their house
1:37.9	and improving it for years. This isn't all going to get done in a single day or a week or even a year and that's okay.
