0:30.7	To dish out.
0:34.1	D-I-S-H.
0:35.7	When you eat a meal, you use dishes.
0:39.5	So if I say, give me a dish, it could be a plate or a bowl.
0:46.5	Probably a plate.
0:48.3	So that's a dish.
0:50.5	Out, O-U-T.
0:52.7	The preposition out.
0:54.5	Now, when we use the preposition out as part of a verb, in this case to dish out, the idea of out
1:02.3	would be something is going outward.
1:06.7	There's an outward movement.
1:10.5	To dish out means, so what goes on a dish?
1:13.8	What do you use a dish for?
1:15.7	A dish holds food, right?
1:20.2	So dish out basically means distributing to give.
1:28.1	So at lunchtime, if you go to a cafeteria, the cook dishes out delicious food.
