Bob Varley had harassed me for a few years about wanting to do a show.

Bob had done a cable access show when he lived in Massachusetts that was called World of

Mickey and it was everything you would expect a cable access show to be.

And he wanted to do something like that with the Diz.

At that time we didn't have the resources, the technology or the money to do a video,

a video production.

So it was kind of out of the question and then podcasting was becoming very popular and

Bob wanted to do a podcast and I said you know there's a lot of people out there doing

it until we can come up with a good idea, an original idea of our own.

I don't want to do it.

I remember sitting in Pete's office over 10 years ago just kind of brainstorming the idea

behind what we're going to do, even the name, the logo.

And so just the term Diz unplugged was a way for people to take the site with them.

We didn't have iPhones then, it was just iPod.

So it was really trying to find a way where people can listen to us or get their Disney

updates in their car or while they're working out and stuff like that.

That's why it's called the Diz unplugged.

You take it out of your computer and you take it with you.

I thought about it and I eventually said okay let me hire someone to do it.

I just I never wanted to be on my scare to death to be on my and so we try to think

of all these ways we can have a podcast without us.
