In this episode we talked to retired agent James Galiano, who served in the FBI for nearly 25 years.

A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, he was a commissioned

Army officer before joining the Bureau.

During his FBI career, Jimmy Galiano worked

to organized crime, was a member of the hostage rescue team,

that's HRT, the FBI's elite counterterrorism unit.

He participated in numerous overseas deployments and led the FBI's New York

Office SWAT team.

As a matter of fact, he was awarded the FBI's Medal of Bravery

for actions while serving on the SWAT team.

Galiana is interviewed about hitting up the New York Division's Hudson

Valley resident agency and about his formation of the Hudson Valley Safe Streets

Task Force.

He also talks about the importance of community policing and how he used his role as a basketball

coach to encourage, motivate, and mentor at-risk kids.

His task force, a multi-agency unit, received the top Gang Unit Award by the New York Gang Investigators Association

and also received the True American Hero Award from the Federal Drug Agents Foundation for their multiple

high profile prosecutions of violent street gangs.

Galiano's last two assignments in the Bureau was as the
