It began long ago, two young boys in an American town riding their bikes to school and Little League practice.

Over the years, the boys became fast friends, united in their love for stories where things would go horribly wrong.

And I think I kind of touched on this on the last episode, J.G. But Nan has a very dear friend Nicole Cipione, who came over yesterday,

to visit and do some work with Nan. And she found me as she was leaving the house and she said,

I just want to thank you and J.G for what you guys do on the shallow end because it has

changed the commute that I make every week

and and just having that podcast to listen to it makes me laugh it makes me take my mind off

of freeway traffic and I really want you to know how much I've grown to appreciate what

the shallow end means,

which was really, really touching.

And I thought, and so I sent her a text afterwards saying, I want you to know how much that means.

But I also wanted to say it, quote, unquote, on the air, because I know there are a number of people like Nicole who have emailed us,

who are regular subscribers,

listeners who have taken the time to say, you know, you've changed my commute. I look forward

to Wednesday mornings, stuff like that. And I just wanted to reiterate to our listeners,

subscribers, how much that means when people take the time to do that. And so Lindsay said all that to say this.
