Summary

Trigger Warning: In this episode, we cover topics related to eating disorders and other mental health challenges. While we do talk about issues relating to food and body, some episodes may be more emotionally challenging or difficult and may make you uncomfortable. If the podcast feels triggering in any way, please turn it off and get the appropriate help. Remember, I am not a doctor, but an eating recovery coach. Enjoy the episode! Have you ever felt scared to eat? Maybe you weren’t sure if you were eating the right food or the right amount and that feeling brought on a lot of anxiety. Today Jessi was joined by a client of the FFM, Hanna, to talk about her journey of recovery. Hanna started recognizing her struggles with food and body at a very young age and found herself being very controlling about food choices to the point where she was scared to eat. In this episode, Jessi and Hanna talk about her struggles and how dealing with this has robbed her of so many joyous life experiences and moments. They talk about how Hanna found FFM, the breaking point where she knew something needed to change and her advice for someone who’s in the depths of a struggle with food and their body.  In this episode: Her first memories about food and body and how this impacted her Becoming more controlling of her food as a young child Feeling guilty about eating junk food growing up Her first experience with learning about binge eating  Realizing that other people weren’t scared to eat like she was Her experiences with binging and purging Reflecting on what God wanted her to learn from her struggles Telling the people closest to her about her struggles with food and body How things got worse after finishing college The breaking point where she reached out for help after having her own children How she found the FFM and started working with Jessi What happened that rebuilt Hanna’s belief in being able to recover The relief she’s felt from being able to enjoy life fully  Her advice for someone in the depths of a struggle with food and body What her life looks like now and how things are different for her Remember to sign for Jessi’s VIP email list here where she will share exclusive content: www.jessijean.com/VIP *You don’t want to miss the 1st email which includes an EPIC workbook guide for alll my visual gals on Nervous System Regulation!
