Summary

We LOVE a good countdown to Christmas whether it's an advent calendar, wearing our favorite holiday attire, or watching our favorite holiday movies! But this year, we have something EXTRA special planned!   To help us cross some items off our to-do list while enjoying the festivities of the holidays, we have created 12 Days of TOP Teaching! For the next 12 days, we will be getting gifts ready, baking our favorite cookies, and more! What could be better than that?   Here is a rundown of the days:   Day 1 (Sunday, December 13th): Get gifts ready for people that are part of your teaching life Day 2 (Monday, December 14): Treat yourself to a new pair of holiday jammies Day 3 (Tuesday, December 15th): Plan your first day back from winter break Day 4 (Wednesday, December 16th): Do something nice for someone else Day 5 (Thursday, December 17th): Clean your classroom or digital workspace Day 6 (Friday, December 18th): Complete your favorite holiday craft Day 7 (Saturday, December 19th): Get a box to collect gifts that need to be taken back to your classroom Day 8 (Sunday, December 20th): Drive around your community and look at all the lights Day 9 (Monday, December 21st): Get caught up on your grading Day 10 (Tuesday, December 22nd): Bake your favorite holiday treat Day 11 (Wednesday, December 23rd): Write thank you notes for any gifts you received from families Day 12 (Thursday, December 24th): Watch your favorite holiday movie while enjoying your favorite holiday snack and drink   Plus, if you post about completing one of the 12 Days of TOP Teaching on Instagram and tag us, you will be automatically entered into a giveaway of one of our EXCLUSIVE TOP Teaching crewneck sweatshirts! Each post you make is a new entry so make sure you participate (and share) all 12 days for your best chance of winning!

Well, hello there, top teachers. We are your host, Bridget Spackman and Michelle Farray, and we are here to make

0:07.0

your life easier by helping you master your time, organization, and productivity as a teacher.

On the first day of top teaching my true teacher game to me, guys, I screwed it up. But I was so close and I feel like I have

0:24.5

vocals of an angel. I'm just saying. All right. We're just kidding, guys, but it is going to be

0:30.8

an episode of 12 days of top teaching. So in today's episode, it's going to be a little bit

0:35.1

different. We are going to share with you

0:37.7

12 days of top teaching. These are little tasks that you can complete each day that will help you

0:45.2

relax and get ready for the holidays as a top teacher. I love that. It's going to be a mixture

0:52.0

of things to do as a teacher and some self-care.

0:56.1

It's going to kind of go back and forth, which is really, really nice. But first, let's hear

1:00.2

a TSA from Charlotte. Charlotte says, every year, I feel like there are so many things that I need to do,

1:07.0

and I can't seem to enjoy the holiday season. I am running around getting last minute gifts and trying to teach full time as well. I really wish that I could figure out a way to enjoy this time of year without losing my sanity. Well, Charlotte, I think the perfect answer would be 12 days of top teaching. I am so excited about this episode and I think it's just because

1:30.6

we have so many fun little things that just kind of warm my heart as a teacher and it's going to

1:35.3

make you feel like you're actually enjoying the holidays versus just allowing it to pass through

1:40.9

just like another year. So keep in mind, guys, that we, Michelle and I both celebrate

1:46.9

Christmas. So this episode is geared toward Christmas, but you can certainly change the dates

1:51.5

to do a countdown to any other holiday if you do not celebrate Christmas. Absolutely. Now,

1:58.0

the 12 days of Christmas have been done in so many different ways. Growing up,

2:02.3

I remember watching a lot of ABC family, which I think now is called freeform. I don't understand

2:08.2

how that happened. But okay, they would always do 12 days of Christmas where they would play a different

2:13.9

Christmas movie like every day leading up to Christmas. And I loved that time of year.

2:19.0

And as you know, we are huge fans of the office. And when I think of 12 days of Christmas, I think of
