I didn't know the Sparky issue, Sun Devil Sparky was designed by a former Disney employee.

I've always wondered why Sparky had the little mustache and the evidently, and this is rumour,

the guy was a former Disney employee who drew Sparky the mascot. His name was Burke Anthony.

He worked at Disney Studios from 35 to 41.

And some speculated that maybe there's a little Walt Disney in his drawing,

that he liked to draw him as Walt Disney, because he considered him to be the Devil himself.

So when he did Sparky, he drew his old boss, which makes sense.

So I never really understood that the face of Sparky, but it does know when you look at him side-by-side.
