Thank you so much for sharing with us so far your history up until writing the book

and your motives and thoughts for publishing the book.

Now what I would like to do is kind of dive into your first book and insiders view of

Mormon origins.

And I think the way I would like to try and set it up, and this is a bit experimental

because it is not necessarily in the exact order you wrote the book.

But I want to contrast a bit for our listeners what the traditional correlated view is of

Mormon history so that then we can then compare what you learned as you actually studied

Mormon history as it contrasts with what the correlated view is.

So for our listeners, I'll just take you all through it.

Joseph Smith, born in 1805 in Vermont, eventually moved to Palmyre in New York.

When he was a boy, he was curious about which church he should join.

And so he read in the book of James and decided to pray, went out to a grove of trees.

Let's say in his 14th year when he was 14 years old, prayed to know which church was

true.

During that prayer, God the Father and Jesus Christ came down and told him that he should

join none of the churches because they were in abomination.

But instead that God and Jesus would be establishing their one true church with Joseph Smith.

So Joseph Smith then continued as a boy and grew in light knowledge, had visits from

Angel Moroni, knew at a young age that he was going to be publishing the book of Mormon.

There were several years where he wasn't able to actually see the plates.

But eventually he was able to actually get the plates.
