Alright, this is Gary Parrish, this is me at 4th, I got this now Wednesday, March 27th.

And this is the IOM College basketball podcast I'm joined for, usual, by my colleagues

We will get to the Sweet 16 and the upcoming Elite 8 matchups between Arizona, Wisconsin,

Kentucky and Notre Dame, as soon enough we'll start with the big news of the day.

Donnie Tendell out at Tennessee after one year as the ball's coach.

He went 16 and 16 and honestly that wasn't a problem at all.

In fact, according to most reasonable minds, he actually overachieved given the roster

that he inherited.

But we found out early in the season that the NCAA was investigating his program, the program

that he used to run at Southern Mass and ultimately that has called up to him.

I reported yesterday that Tennessee officials were supposed to have a conference call with

NCAA officials to discuss what they planned to formally charge Donnie Tendell with for lack

of a better verb that called did go down yesterday and with an hours, Donnie Tendell's contract

was terminated as I reported early this morning.

So, Noorlander, I'll start with you.

You actually went the Knoxville in the off season and spent some time with Donnie Tendell.

Sort of weird to think that this is already over, although I think given what we know about

the situation at Southern Mass and the pinnacle he was likely to have to endure from the

NCAA, this is a pretty practical resolution even if it is an odd situation.

Yeah, practical resolution is the right term.
