You're listening to the Decluttered Mom podcast. A podcast built specifically for busy moms by a busy mom. I'm your host, Diana Renee. And in 2017, I had my second daughter and it felt like I was literally drowning in my home. Okay, not literally,

0:23.7

but I felt like I couldn't breathe with all of the stuff surrounding me. Over the next 10 months,

0:30.2

I got rid of approximately 70% of our household belongings and I have never looked back.

0:37.6

I kind of feel like I hacked the mom system, and I'm here to share all the tips,

0:43.0

tricks, and encouragement.

1:37.4

Or if like just food just appeared on a plate before me. Like I would be, that's just I don't

1:43.2

enjoy cooking. And I've tried different ways

1:45.8

to enjoy it. And I just don't enjoy it. And what I've come to learn, first of all, is that that's okay.

1:52.4

I don't have to enjoy it. We don't have to enjoy everything that we do that we choose to do for our

1:59.1

homes or for our families. And I, if you don't know, so last year

2:04.8

in like April of 2022, we had like a kitchen flood. I don't think, I don't know if I'd call it a

2:12.8

flood, but we had a water leak in our kitchen that was behind the wall. It was in the dream pipe of our kitchen sink.

2:20.4

And we didn't know it was there until we discovered that it was there.

2:25.7

And by then, the water had gone under all of the cabinets except for two.
