Summary

When you are thrown into new situations you cannot help but feel as though all the systems, routines and procedures you have created for yourself no longer function on your behalf. What once was a life that had some order and consistency has been thrown for a complete loop and left you feeling defeated. COVID-19 has caused so many teachers to feel hopeless and in need of a new routine. Hours have been spent searching for what new technologies can aid us in successfully doing our jobs.  In this episode, we talk about specific materials, routines, or procedures that we have put in place that have helped us in regaining some of the order that we once knew while in a brick and mortar job. We share what has allowed us to be successful during online teaching but we also share what has allowed us to maintain that balance while working from home.

So quarantine has really forced us to really find this new normal. And I'm saying normal with little quotation marks in the air because we hope that

0:23.5

this is not going to be the normal for too long. But this may mean that you're eating from home more

0:28.9

often. You're working out at home. You're spending more time with your family. You're finding

0:33.5

sources of entertainment at home. And you're really just kind of working to balance and

0:38.2

figure it all out. So we're going to be sharing the top three things that have worked for us in

0:45.2

quarantine. Now, two of these things are going to be for online teaching. So if you are still teaching

0:50.9

right now, I mean, bless your heart. I feel so bad for you. That is me.

0:56.7

Yes, that is absolutely Michelle. She, I think it's what, five weeks? I still, well, we just finished

1:03.1

a week. So now I have about four weeks left. All right. So four weeks. And I'm pretty much done at this point.

1:08.2

But we're going to share two things for online teaching. And then we're going to

1:12.5

also share one thing that's working for us personally. So hopefully this can give you some sort of

1:17.6

inspiration and some ideas of what you can start to kind of implement into your own life during

1:23.6

this new normal. Now before I share a TSAH, Bridget, I had to share this with you. Okay.

1:30.4

Okay. You would be proud of me. Do you know what I did in between our last episode and this one?

1:36.4

No. What did you do? I opened all my Amazon boxes, which you were giving me a hard time about.

1:42.2

I am so proud of you. Did try everything on I did so I'm

1:46.9

still waiting on one piece of my williwanka outfit but it's looking good so far I have to say I'm

1:51.8

kind of upset why because I didn't send you a picture I knew you could say that but here's my reasoning

1:59.0

stinker I want to wait and send you a picture when I have like the vest to go underneath and the little walking stick because then it will just all come together.

2:07.5

So it's coming.

2:08.3

All right.
