I'm a retired agent writing crime fiction inspired by actual

FBI cases. In this episode I interview retired supervisory special agent Harry

Garcia.

Harry served in the FBI for 22 years.

He was an accountant and a former IRS revenue agent, and throughout most of his Bureau

career he worked complex financial investigations.

He is interviewed about a multi-agency Southwest Border Task Force targeting targeting corrupt Border Inspectors working out of the

Calexico Border Station, which is on the border of California and Mexico.

The case was very successful. California and Mexico.

The case was very successful.

Not only did it result in the seizure of $1.2 million in cash, the two main corrupt inspectors they were looking at received

sentences of life imprisonment and 27 years in prison.
