Hey, friends, Michael Brown, delighted to be with you.

We're going to open up the word.

We're going to have an interesting, edifying, helpful discussion today.

I won't be taking any calls or responding to posts on social media. So sit back,

enjoy the broadcast. I believe you find it helpful not because I'm talking about me, but because

they're going to be talking about us, about you and me, about others. And I think the principles

we're going to lay out are really, really helpful.

So there is a perception. I've been told this to my face. There is a perception that I am,

quote, the gatekeeper of the charismatic movement. Yeah, I've been told this to my face,

and the perception comes especially from those who are critics of the charismatic movement, critics of the Pentecostal movement, those who say that the sign gifts, tongues and prophecy and gifts of healing, that these are not for today, that they are not normative for today as they were in

New Testament times. And those that may also oppose modern revival movements and things like that

and other trends in the church. And there is a perception among quite a few of these critics

that me, yours truly, Dr. Michael Brown, I am the, quote,

gatekeeper of the charismatic movement. In other words, I am the one that God has appointed

to keep the bad stuff out, to give approval to this and disapproval of that, to spend a lot of

my time calling out error in the movement,
