Let's get this party started. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. So many of you out there. We hope you are safe and sound. We've been talking about the frigid temperatures all across the country. Some guy just sent me a screenshot of the weather in Texas at minus five. So have fun with that out in Texas. You know, stay warm bundle up Jeff Schwartz and I will keep you company here all the way until 9 a.m. Eastern time 6 o'clock.

Pacific right here on Fox Sports Radio and Jeff Schwartz, you are you're in a an interesting spot because you talked about this earlier. Your brother, a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, obviously a Mitchell Schwartz, the offensive lineman defending Super Bowl champions, but he suffered an injury and just watching the Super Bowl.

1:08.0

You could tell the one glaring disadvantage that Kansas City had in that game was on the offensive line because it looked like Patrick Mahomes back at Texas Tech. Like it like that's what I get looked like he was looked like he was running for his life.

1:24.0

The entire game and I would venture to guess Patrick Mahomes has never been as sore after a football game in the NFL as he wasn't that Super Bowl game. He took a beating.

1:38.0

And obviously leading up to that game, I picked the chiefs. I mean, I really obviously didn't really have much of a choice, but I told people that look as like guys watch off this offensive line issue because if we had said any other year essentially right any other game, any other time of the year, any other quarterback, hey guys, you're out for of your starting offensive lineman.

2:04.0

And three guys are playing their first game at that current position in that game, whether it's week one week seven week 13 wild car round, we would all say, hey, that team is going to lose the game.

2:16.0

And it happened exactly how he would have said it happened so many other times and people are like, oh, didn't see this coming because obviously Pat Mahomes is so great and he's able to make plays and do things that

2:32.0

are so extraordinary that we've overlooked the chiefs offense of line being concerned looked at having all these backups in all year. This is not new, but obviously in this moment, Pat Mahomes is not able to overcome it.

2:46.0

Yeah, it's unfair to only talk about the chiefs offense as a failure without mentioning the bucks defense played outstanding. And in my takeaway from this game is the box defense forced the issue on the

3:03.0

team, so the chiefs could have done a lot of things differently, but the bucks defense was outstanding, man, they played so well. And the storyline should be how well they played not so much that the chiefs offense failed.

3:17.0

And again, it was not on it wasn't really on my homes. I think the bucks just played much better than they did.

3:23.0

I can't remember many times during that game where Mahomes wasn't just scrambling for his dear life. And I'm not saying that all of that was just instant pressure. Maybe Mahomes just started to lose confidence and realized I got to get around and move a little bit so I can, you know, buy my receiver some time, but it just felt like the entire game.

3:43.0

He was under pressure and under stress. It did feel that way and you know, but here's the thing, if you go back and watch the game too, there were lots of times when they they did block it up like they did actually do they block how they were supposed to.

3:59.0

And there was no one open and Mahomes was scrambling late in the down because no one was open. And I think that is something that again goes back to Tampa defense, just doing a great job.

4:11.0

And making sure that there was no one open and part of that was because and so this is something that's it's important to discuss. So people always say, hey, you know, when you're playing a good past rush, what you have to do is you have to to pack in the box, right?

4:25.0

You have to help both tackles. You have to help the offensive. I got to move the pocket. Yeah, that's all great. But what happens is and this happened along this game. I have my notes right here. I charted 12 times in the first half.

4:37.0

29 plays to the chiefs help their offensive line. That doesn't count our POs or screens. But what happens is this happened a bunch, Jonas, is when you kept the tight end in or running back to

4:47.0

sometimes both is that you have less guys out in the routes. And so when you have a coverage, they put about your cover to so you have seven guys in on, you know, on defense, they're covering in only rushing for.

4:59.0

And three wide receivers on a route. All three guys get double teamed and no one's open. And so you need to spread out a past rushing to spread out and they just didn't do it. So it, yeah, it was not the best showing for that chiefs offense.

5:17.0

I think game plan wise, they came in a little bit worried about, you know, their offense aligned and kind of had a game plan designed to limit what their offense aligned would do just because they were worried about them and it makes sense about why they would be worried about it.

5:30.0

And I think there were as aggressive as it is. Maybe could have been or should have been. And it was a tough, it was a tough go for them. But again, I think that the credit here should go to Tampa, not really the chiefs failures.
