I vividly remember a fight that my husband and I had early on in our marriage.

I of course don't remember what the fight was about because that's the way it always goes, right?

But I remember that it was late at night and I stomped out of our bedroom into the front room of our tiny apartment in a huff.

I then lay tragically on the couch with the pillow over my head waiting for my night and shining armor to come and say just the right thing and smooth over whatever issue I was mad about that night.

Well, I waited and I waited some more.

And I started to get angry and I could picture him back there just being stubborn and refusing to come out to comfort me.

And so I think I started calling out pathetically needy things like you don't even love me.

And when there was no response to this drama, I finally stomped back into the bedroom, sure that I was just going to confront my insensitive husband.

And I found that he was actually, you guessed it, sound asleep.
