I have been looking through the book of Ephesians recently and yesterday I started talking

about Ephesians chapter one and we spent some time just pondering this idea of Jesus Christ being the means by which God the

Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms.

And then we're going to move on to the next verse, it's Ephesians chapter 1, verse

number 4.

And the reason we're doing this every morning is to get our mind right, to get ourselves thinking like God thinks, to get ourselves focused on the truth

of who God has made us to be and what it means to be his and for him to be ours. And so verse four says he's blessed us with every

spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be

wholly and blameless before him. Now this is one of those verses that you'll hear

people debate about because it sounds like that

predestination stuff you know that choosing stuff he chose us in him

before the foundation of the world well it's pretty clear isn't it he chose us before the foundation of the world. Well, it's pretty clear, isn't it?

He chose us before the foundation of the world.

So he chose some and he didn't choose others.

You know, I don't want to get into that right now, even though it is important to think

through. That's not the point Paul's making if you look at the statement very clearly.
