Back inside the Ann Arbor Studios of the Big 1050 WTKA online at the Big 1050.com, obviously getting ready for Michigan, Michigan State tonight in men's basketball. Tipoff at 8 o'clock up at East Lansing. Actually, I believe tip off is officially at 805 up in East Lansing. A really quick Tim McCormick story from the other night. He was doing the game on the radio for, I think he was for serious satellite, whoever was for.

He was doing the game on the radio, the Michigan, Nebraska game on Tuesday.

And we, I was walking around pregame with Grace and we were going to say a little to

a couple people and we were right by the area where the media is and Tim happens to be walking towards where he's to go back to his where he's

going to work and so I see him kind of come from behind me so I stop and I say hey Tim and he

stops and he looks down he says a little Grace and Gracie before she just looks at me and she goes

he's so tall.

And the fact is Timmy Kormick is quite tall.

And he calls a good game. And obviously it brings a lot of great insight to the Michigan Basketball Insider podcast each and every week here on the show and on the Michiganinsider.com and getting ready for this matchup.

It would not necessarily be hyperbole to say that this is the biggest matchup in recent history in this rivalry.

The combined AP ranking of these two teams, number three, Michigan, number seven, Michigan State.

That's 10, right, adding those two numbers together.

That is the highest, that's the best in the history of the men's basketball rivalry when these teams meet.

The previous was 12 when number four Michigan was at number eight Michigan State in February of 2020, of 2013.

So that was what, wow, 13 years ago.

And that game did not go very well for Michigan.

Michigan State won that game in a route.

Michigan did win the revenge game when the teams combined for 13 in their rankings when you add

them up. Number four, Michigan was playing number nine, Michigan State in Ann Arbor on March

the 3rd in 2013 and they got the win in a close one. But it's really tough to go on the road

and get a win anywhere. And you heard Tim talking about the added difficulty of what the environment brings. And it is that kind of an environment. Some of the guys on Michigan have played in this environment. Obviously Will Cheddar, Nomari Burnett. A few of these guys have played in this kind of an environment. So they have that kind of an experience. A guy like Elliot Codo. I mean, he went to Carolina. He played at Cameron Indoor Stadium last year for Duke.
